HSP presents at international events in North Carolina and Silicon Valley |
| 1 November, 2008 - Finance professionals interested in the impact of a global economy on the US market were invited to Greensboro, NC last month to hear a variety of speakers. Hosted by the North Carolina Association of CPAs, the event drew a large audience. In separate sessions, High Street Partners president Larry Harding discussed global staffing and the international hiring process, and gave a presentation on transfer pricing as a unique component of global business. HSP's Scott Aldsworth also spoke at an informational session on "best practices for global expansion" hosted by Silicon Valley Bank, in partnership with the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). The Santa Clara event, which focused on the United Kingdom and Europe, covered best practices for setting up offices overseas, and included discussions of cross border tax considerations, legal structures for overseas subsidiaries, short- and long-term accounting issues, managing expansion costs, identifying high quality service providers, banking, credit and risk management solutions, and avoiding common pitfalls. |
